Get Your PS4 & PS5 Ready for Future Jailbreaks
Are you ready to jailbreak your PS4 or PS5 when the next exploit comes out? Even if you missed the recent jailbreaks for older software versions, this guide will help you prepare your console for the future.
Important: There is currently NO working jailbreak for PS4 version 12.52, PS5, or newer software. This guide is for getting ready, so you can act fast when a jailbreak becomes available.
Why Prepare?
In the past, jailbreaking required specific, hard-to-find game discs. These discs became expensive because everyone wanted them for jailbreaking. If you're on the newest software, you can use free demo versions of games instead. This will save you money and trouble.
However, these demos aren't easy to find. They're only available on the Japanese PlayStation Store. That means you need to create a Japanese account to download them. Here’s how.
Creating a Japanese PlayStation Account
- Log out: On your PS4 or PS5, log out of your current profile.
- Add a new user: Select "Add New User" and then "Create New User."
- Accept: Accept the terms and click "Next."
- Sign in: Choose to sign in to PlayStation Network.
- Create an account: Select "Create an Account." It's best to do this on your console, as creating an account on the PlayStation website can have errors.
- Change Country/Region: This is the most important step! Change your country/region to Japan. The language will change to Japanese.
- Enter your birthday: Use a birthday you will remember in case you need to recover the account. Make sure you are over 18.
- Enter postal code: Enter "000000" as the Japanese postal code. The rest of the information should fill in automatically. Then, continue to the next section.
- Email and password: Enter your email address and a password for the account.
- Avatar: Pick an avatar.
- Online ID: Create a PlayStation Network Online ID.
- Name: Enter a first and last name.
- Privacy settings: Adjust the privacy settings as you like, or skip this step.
- Terms and conditions: Agree to the PlayStation Network terms and conditions.
- Verify email: PlayStation will send an email to verify your address. Click the button in the email to verify, then confirm on your PS4 or PS5.
- Skip: Skip the options to set up two-factor authentication and add a phone number.
- PlayStation Plus: Skip the option to join PlayStation Plus.
You now have a Japanese account!
Downloading the Demos
Go to the PlayStation Store. It should now be the Japanese version. Use the search option to find and download these demos:
- Hamada Creative
- Xel
- Fuyuki's
- Jinky Resurrection
Note: One of these games might not be available on the PlayStation 5. In that case, download the other three.
What To Do After Downloading
After the demos are downloaded:
- Run each demo: Open each demo at least once to make sure they work.
- Disconnect from the internet: Go to your PS4 or PS5 settings and disconnect from the internet.
- Disable automatic downloads: In the settings menu, go to "Automatic Downloads" and turn everything off.
By following these steps, your PS4 or PS5 will be ready if a new kernel exploit comes out in the future for new software.
Important Things to Remember
- Avoid resetting your console: Factory resetting your console could remove the licenses for these demos.
- Stay offline: Keep your console offline to prevent accidental updates.
