PS5 and PS4 Jailbreak Updates in 2025

The jailbreaking scene for PS5 and PS4 is always changing. This post covers the latest news and updates for jailbreaking these consoles in 2024. It's important to know that jailbreaking can be risky. PS4 Updates

9.00 Exploit

There's news for those interested in the PS4 9.00 update. The labs exploit is still being worked on. Chameleon has made some updates:

• Offline caching: The host will now automatically save the cache for offline use. Once it's fully cached, you can turn off the internet and still load the page.
• Bin loader: A bin loader has been added. It runs on port 9020. You can send payloads from your computer over the network using tools like Netcat GUI.

Nasty, a web host developer, also has a version of the labs exploit. It has a user interface (UI) and includes payloads, like mod menus for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Linux payloads.

Important: The labs exploit is still a work in progress. Don't use it as your main exploit host right now.

How to Avoid Kernel Panics

You can reduce kernel panics by not re-running the exploit when you get the "unhandled rejection" error. If you see that error, restart your PS4. This should get you back up and running faster.

Some users have reported black screens and save corruption with the labs exploit. Use it at your own risk until it's more stable.

Louis Exploit

The Louis exploit has been updated to include another game: Ajinky Resurrection. You can buy the demo version from the PlayStation Store. To do so, you will need to create a Japanese account on your PS4 or PS5. Download the demo, and power your console off. When a new kernel exploit is released in the future, you can use the demo as the starting point to trigger it.

This could help those wanting to jailbreak older firmware (6.50) on the PS5. You can use this to trigger the labs exploit on higher firmware.

MP4 A53 I/O Code

A GitHub project has been released that allows you to read and write to the MP4. This is a step towards getting native fake packages working for PS5 applications.

The problem is that we're missing some keys. These keys are needed to access and run fake packages on the PS5. With the current jailbreaks, we don't have the right permissions to access these keys. By enabling read and write access to the A53 processor, we might be able to get the permissions we need. This could allow us to run PS5 fake packages and fix many problems with PS5 application dumps.

Script Store Feature

A new version has been released that adds a new script store feature. Airpsx is a payload that can be set up as an ETA. It lets you access your PS5 through a web browser-based desktop environment. It has a remote app file manager. It can install package files remotely, launch scripts on the console, and more.

The new script store lets you download and run scripts created by other people. Two scripts have been added so far:

• Clear browser cache: This script clears the browser cache. When you go back on an exploit host, it will cache the exploit again for offline use.
• Dev script to enable remote play: This script enables remote play on your PS5. If you have an activated account, it will give you your account ID and the pin code needed to register the console. You can use a program like Chucky or the official remote play client to connect via remote play.

Custom PS5 Themes

New custom PS5 themes have been created. These include themes for Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part II, GTA 6, Batman, and PS1. The PS1 theme changes all your icons into PS1 game cases.

To install these, download the theme. Make sure you have a TN running with the FTP server enabled on your PS5. Upload all the files via FTP. Select the application and then select the option to download the icons app. Convert all your icons, and then install the PKG, which will install everything onto the console.

There's also a new app dash logo to ELF. This adds an image file to the database. This will make the icon show up above the play game option as you scroll through the theme. You can send the payload once to add the icons and again to remove them.
